June 2005

...

After 20 years of waiting she finally made it to the water.
She purred like a Kitten & ran like a Tiger.
No creaks or stress cracks, one of my concerns since rebuilding the transom.
2 years ago I decided to rebuild the transom after neglect had rotted it out.
After completing the transom rebuild I started on the motors.
The old ones I had on her (a pair of '78 402's) had
seen better days so I pick up a pair of '66 500's.
(Thanks to a lead from Danny).
I had some problems with them that I worked on over the winter.
(One wasn't pumping water & replaced the lower unit seals on the other).
Getting new controllers, props, battery, cables & gas tanks were the
last pieces that I needed to make her complete. After assembling all
the assorted pieces it finally all came together yesterday with her first run.
It was windy & ruff with about a 6'' slop, but she still ran like a champ.
I would like to thank everyone for all your help & support.
Danny, thanks for running this site, it's the greatest!
Thanks,
Chris
