Power Cat Ski
Boat with 197? Mercury 135HP outboard motor.
This boat is very fast and
unusually stable on the water. She is a true collectable classic and
draws a crowd
when ever you take her out. The boat comes with the
original trailer made specifically for this Power Cat. I bought the
boat
from
another collector/owner that was as picky, or maybe more, than me.
I searched for this boat for two years before buying,
and bought
BECAUSE it is a POWER CAT. There isn't a better handling boat out
there,
and i've owned twenty or more boats,
including ocean going rigs. I also
owned and operated a scuba shop in Hawaii, ever notice how many Dive
Operators use cats!!??
Anyway, i have received my marching orders and will be returning to
Hawaii so this awesome boat must go.
IT WILL ONLY BE SOLD TO SOMEONE
WHO KNOWS THE VALUE AND WILL TAKE CARE OF HER. IF YOU CANNOT
CONVINCE
ME OF THAT, DO US BOTH A FAVOR AND DO NOT BID!!! Now that i am thru
ranting here is more info;
you can see more photos about the boat on
the Powercat web site at http://www.powercatboat.com. Please do not
bother the gentleman that i bought her from with questions. If you are
a serious bidder and want to talk with him
I will contact him and ask
if he minds. You can see from the photos here and there that i have
made some nice upgrades.
I believe he was the first owner, i know he
had her for over twenty years and loved her as much as I.
THE BOAT: The
transom was professionally redone and reinforced for a larger motor,
thus the 135.
The jelcoat is in good condition with some minor
scratches in the places you would expect.
There are no leaks, and no
cracks in the fiberglas that i can find. we use the boat a lot since we
are
in the middle of three lakes with one less than two miles away. We
took her out about five times
last year and fifteen this year.. and we
never, ever had a spot of trouble from the motor or the boat.
We
installed carpet and a new depth finder and rebuilt the bottom of one
seat. the radio works,
heck, everything works; lights, horn, speedo,
tach, clock, upgraded steering (single cable), new top,
new gas tanks
with quick disconnect, new batt. if anything you will have to replace
the seats
in a year or so. (about $250). It also comes with the very
nice stainless ski rope tower.
THE TRAILER: built specially for this
boat, we took off the side rollers and added rails for ease of loading.
All rollers under the boat are in good shape. Lights work perfect, New
tires this season, great winch
and front wheel, has spare under the bow
of boat. NO MAJOR RUST, just regular surface stuff.. it needs a paint
job.
Comes with transom saver and rear hold down straps.
MOTOR: I can't tell you what year the motor is, i was told
1976 and
then 1971, i do know that it's in really good
shape and runs like a bat
of out hell. It has tilt that works perfectly but has a wierd leak in
one of the large pistons..
wierd cuz sometimes it leaks and sometimes
it doesn't. I have to refill the trim motor about every fifth
trip to
the lake, but sometimes it does not leak at all???
The guys at
POWERBOAT in Hot Springs said it could be replaced no prob, but it
wasn't that much of a problem for me.
This motor has ALWAYS started
first time every time and never left us on the lake. It has always been
professionally
and carefully maintained. I have driven it all day for
up to twelve miles from the ramp and never thought a thing about it.
The motor has been repainted, has a new prop with a spare, and i spent
almost $1500 on it when
I bought it from G, going thru the motor; new
water pump, wiring, and other stuff for which I still have the
receipts.
Includes whaletail.
OTHER STUFF: since we are leaving we will
not need all of the fun stuff; we have two of the large tubes with
covers,
many vests, a set of skis and a single ski, many ropes, etc.
Well over $500. worth of stuff. If you're interested we can
talk about
that when you come to pick up the boat, but please don't email me
asking to list it all,
there's just too much. Sorry, but i will not
respond to those questions.
if i have left something out :-),
please feel free to post me at
djpierce@cablelynx.com for
more photos or info.
Good luck, thanks for
bidding.
Bonus:
buy the boat with the buy-it-now
feature and you get the extra
periferals for free.
Partial list: One carbon slalom ski,
two Cypress
Gardens Advantage carbon skis, two different size
innertubes with
covers and ropes, many different size vests, booties, extra ropes, etc
