Running the Chrysler w/speedmaster lower unit got the boat
over 65mph and it handled great...
so when the opportunity to pick up a Merc 150 came along...
well it should make this little boat really rock...

Well now to the water...  27Nov04.. cold and snowy conditions...
First runs did not measure up to the performance attained by the
Chrysler motor setup...  Could only make 62mph with the 26p prop
and would only turn 5200 rpm...  disappointing so far...

Final results with the Merc motor....
Got to 75 mph with 14x28 cleaver prop.. at 6200 RPM
The Merc with the trim and jackplate is over 100 lbs
heavier than the Chrsler 4 cyl..  Dick sez the boat is a
lot more fun to drive with the Chrysler and will probably
rig it back to it..  While the top speed will be in the high
60's the handling of the boat is much better with the
smaller motor.
