It has been in my family since 1968, 37
years.
This
boat has always been covered or garaged. Overall it is in great
shape and I have
been restoring it to be an all round good boat for my family to enjoy.
This powercat has the original gelcoat with some cracking,
mostly in the deck around the original support tubes. The
Plexiglas is original and the transom
has no cracks or signs of deterioration when I was running my
stringers,
installing new aluminum gas tanks and placing the sub floor.
It has never sat outside without a cover, has always resided
in California's dry climate( 40 miles east of Los Angeles) so
I am sure that is why it doesn't have the abuse like
so many others that I have seen in the pictures being restored.
I have 2 batteries (1 Marine & 1 Gel), 2 custom made aluminum 20
gal tanks
by IMCO with a pair of gauges, 2 water/fuel separator filters
(replaceable spin off type),
2 bilge pumps with thru transom discharge locations,
newer aluminum props with spares, motors have new points, plugs,
condenser,
distributor caps and plug wires 2 years ago; I have pictures of the
installation of the interior
(construction of the runners for flooring and all wood is coated with
resin),
Clarion am/fm cassette with 6 disc cd changer with Pioneer speakers
(all Marine grade components), newer navigational lights, 12v accessory
plug,
the interior is all high grade marine vinyl with storage under all the
seats.
I have built in 2 storage compartments in the floor under the driver
and passenger's feet for
whatever ( I use one for trash and the other for ropes), the
steering and control cables
were replaced about 5 years ago along with both lower units being
completely rebuilt.
The trailer had the axle replaced about 15 years ago and the tires and
rims
are 2 years old but have always been in a garage in the desert
except when launching the boat and a trip to Lake Powell in Utah.
