My name is
Chris and I am in
Melbourne, Australia.
Thanks very much for the web site , it has been great in my research
since
buying a restored 1966 Powercat I found over here by accident.
Attached are a few photos of the boat I took it out for the first
time today
and being a novice sailor I was highly impressed and felt safe too. We
did a
speed test and ended up at around 42 mph which felt awesome.
Do you know of any others in Australia ? Everyone says it’s very
original.
I was lucky as the previous owner fully restored the boat – all I have
to do is
get the engine moved to the middle !

Hi Danny
Thanks for the e-mail, really appreciate it. We took the boat out
this morning on Melbourne Bay, went
very well however the engine on one side is still very annoying, can’t
wait to change it
even though we may lose a bit of power, no good for water-skiing at the
moment and leans to one side !!
What a truly amazing boat it is, it gets so much attention, especially
as it’s
immaculate condition shows off a fine example of this awesome design.
Your Dad was obviously fantastic at what he did.
Can’t wait to have another go !!!
Many regards,
Chris Tough

As you can
see, I have now re-located the motor to the middle of the boat.
It's much more
balanced now and ready for summer. It gets so much attention and
everyone
at the boat ramp comes over for a chat as it's very unique! I
have also instaled a cd player for some tunes,
and bought a 2nd fuel tank for a longer range of Powercat cruising!!
Thanks for the great
website,
Kind Regards
Chris
