Power Cat Hydro 17h
...
1966 17-foot Cee Bee
Power Cat three-point hydro with a 1966
100hp Mercury outboard motor on trailer.
A very rare, hard to find boat that
had limited production. Boat has been idle for 30+ years.
I was prepping to
repaint it and it went to the bottom of priority list when kids came
along.
Tarps came off unnoticed one
winter and upholstery was destroyed. We still have some of the
upholstery
pieces for patterns.
Although the
plywood side partitions look awful, it appears they are not rotted,
just paint
that has checked.
Cannot find any rot in the wood. There are no scars on the
hull itself. If you were going back to the original color (which is
Parisian
Blue)
only the deck and transom would need to be painted, as the hull has no
scarring. I had painted the deck
in
1970,
at which time the original edge beading was still available from the
manufacturer so I renewed it and it remains in good condition.
The dash and original metal parts are still
in tact, no additional holes of any sort have been drilled in the hull.
Yes…this is a project boat, but
certainly worth the effort,
mostly upholstery and paint.
And when finished is a head-snapper. Even on the
trailer it looks like it’s doing 65!
It
truly has a beautiful line to it. Even
with the 100 hp Merc I could edge out 455 Olds Tahitis.

California if you are calling from out of state
