Hi, we are very excited to
find your Powercat group. We have
owned this boat for about 18 years.
It had a very ugly wooden cabin when we
bought it. We used it for a couple
of years and then parked
it up for a while. My hubby Russell
resurrected it about 10 years ago with a
new transom, a coat of
paint and put a single 85 hp Johnson on
it. We have used it mainly for water
skiing on the
Mary River near Maryborough in
Queensland and it has been fantastic.
Our kids and all our friends
kids learnt to waterski behind our
boat. We have had so many good
times with it!
Russ has just put a new floor in it and
is setting it up with twin 70hp
Johnsons. Just waiting on parts
for the water pumps for them before
trying it in the river. That's why I
went looking for other boats
on the internet and found your website
and facebook page. I was a bit
concerned about overpowering the boat,
but I now think it will be great!
We were never real happy with the single
motor due to excessive spray
and cavitation. It had twin 40 hp
Johnson 'Seahorse' when we bought it,
which still run, and we still have
them in the shed. We think they might
have been original?
